The Embassy of Malta in Warsaw celebrates Malta National Day

The Embassy of Malta in Warsaw celebrated the Malta National Day at the Warsaw Regent Hotel on Friday, 10th December, 2021. 

The Embassy was joined by Ms Sara Pace, a Maltese Artist, who travelled to Warsaw to exhibit eight paintings that form part of a series of paintings representing the Maltese landscape in bright jewel-like colours, focusing on the sparkling colours seen through the Mediterranean sun.

Attending the reception were State Secretaries, Members of Sejm, a number of resident Ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps, high officials from various Ministries and the Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw, members of the Academia, Cultural entities, members of the business community, leading tour operators and tourist-marketing outlets operating in Poland, Honorary Consuls of Malta in Poland as well as the Maltese Communtiy in Poland.

Dr Marisa Farrugia, the Ambassador of Malta to Poland, delivered a brief address on the occasion. She highlighted the 50th Anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malta and Poland as a testament of the strong bilateral ties between the two countries. Ambassador Farrugia referred Malta as a country which holds dear the values of democracy, freedom of expression, rule of law, pluralism, social inclusion, the protection of human and individuals rights and gender equality.

Ambassador Farrugia also touched upon the healthy platform of political consultations and economic cooperation between the two countries. She affirmed that the 50-year history of Maltese-Polish diplomatic relations will be enriched with further interesting chapters.

During the Ambassador’s address, a video message by the Hon. Evarist Bartolo, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, and a video photo-montage capturing important milestones during the 50 years of bilateral relations between Malta and Poland was shown.

Ambassador Farrugia extended an acknowledgement of sincere gratitude to the sponsors of the Malta National Day, namely: the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Malta, the Malta Tourism Authority, iSpot, Allcom, Quick Turtle, Delicata Winemaker Ltd., the Strand Palace Agencies Ltd. and MAPFRE Insurance.
