On Monday, 13
December 2022, the Ambassador of Malta to Kuwait, H.E. Raymond Sarsero, hosted
a reception to celebrate the 48th Anniversary of the Republic Day of
Malta, and the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between Malta and Kuwait on 3 October 1972.
The
Distinguished Guest at the event was Mr. Amaar Mohammad Al-Ajmi, Minister of
State for National Assembly Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs
and Urban Development.
In his
speech, Ambassador Sarsero outlined the excellent bilateral relations spanning
fifty years of collaboration based on shared interests and mutual respect. The
Ambassador noted that the two countries share a common vocation for promoting
peace and security, and that Kuwait plays a valued role as regional partner for
Malta and for the European Union. Looking ahead, Ambassador Sarsero outlined the
priorities of Malta on the United Nations Security Council in 2023 and 2024.
The event was attended by the Deputy Head of
Mission and Consul, Mr. David Muscat. The local staff at the Embassy of Malta
in Kuwait were also in attendance.
